Jacques Al~Asmar is an international source-performer and source-educator of traditional Middle Eastern dance whose work is rooted in cultural authenticity, emotional storytelling, and powerful movement. Born in Accra, Ghana, and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Jacques was immersed in rhythm, music, and dance from an early age. His passion for dance was recognized early on, inspired by the legendary Golden Era icon Nadia Gamal, whose artistry continues to influence his approach to performance and teaching.

Trained in Classical Raqs Sharqi, Shaabi, Saidi, and Mahraganat, Jacques brings both classical precision and contemporary expression to the stage. He is known for his strength, grace, and fluidity—moving effortlessly between controlled technique and explosive, grounded power. Each performance is more than choreography; it is a narrative shaped by music, emotion, and presence, inviting audiences into an immersive and unforgettable experience.

As an educator, Jacques’ teaching philosophy goes far beyond steps and sequences. His classes are grounded in empowerment, expression, and personal transformation. Drawing on his Middle Eastern roots, he teaches the cultural and emotional depth of the dance, helping students understand rhythms, musical phrasing, and lyrical meaning so they can connect more authentically with their movement. He focuses on developing confident performers who move with intention, musicality, and individuality.
